The Gabo Brown/Poly-Rythmo cut is from the excellent "African Scream Contest" comp by our friends at Analog Africa. An essential purchase. And rockers must not miss the new Endless Boogie record, "The Focus Level," on No Quarter. As some perceptive punter wrote on emusic: "Making dirty, swinging, heavy rock and roll records must be pretty damn tough, seeing as how it's been done less than, say, a dozen times since about 1978. Well, these 4 middle-aged gents have filled the void left by two generations of turgid, overly compressed, under-funked, in-your-face would-be rock records. They have resurrected the seemingly lost arts (in rock, at least) of minimal riff summoning and restrained groove management. Regardless of what ails you, this is what you need." And the vinyl has a nice extra track.
